My pen-name is Lynne Cruz and I dream of being a successful writer of romance and erotica.

I live in New South Wales in Australia and have been raised with love, happiness, unconditional love and Elton John tracks. I have a big love for “real” music, but can also fall victim to the occasional dance track. Give me tracks by Muse, the Scissor Sisters and Queen and I’m happy.

My love of writing came with my love of music, theatre, acting and singing. I have always been a creative creature and was always encouraged to work on my art, especially by my father. I’m an avid gamer and nerd and really enjoy playing on Xbox, “meeting” new people online and defeating enemies in space and in biohazard areas of New York. If you ever want to play games with me, I’m usually online if I’m not working or writing (or eating).

In my teens, I acted in small local productions such as Fame, The Sound of Music and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I also would appear occasionally at local talent quests. With this came rejections from art and theatre schools, however, when I look back, I see that that particular path was not for me.

I instead focused on writing. Growing up, my father would often show me his work as a photographer, which often included glamour models. I found the beauty of the body and the female form quite interesting and would use that as a basis to some of my art works. I wanted to incorporate this into writing, so I decided to write romance and erotica novels.

After I got over the initial embarrassment of telling people I write about sex (thanks to the popularity of 50 Shades), I really got into working on my stories. Now, I feel at complete ease in my stories, my novels, my work. With that comfort has come a kind of confidence that was only nurtured and encouraged by my closest friends and family.

Now, I look forward to writing more stories and immersing myself even more into the world of being an author. Does this mean I can sit in a cafe with a laptop, now?
